In early 2024, the Sustainable Agriculture Foundation (SAF)—formerly known as the Syngenta Foundation for Sustainable Agriculture (SFSA)—underwent a major rebranding and structural transformation. As a newly independent international NGO with operations in Africa and Asia, SAF needed a digital platform that could reflect its renewed mission: empowering smallholder farmers through innovation, market access, and climate-resilient practices. SAF engaged us to design and develop a new website that would serve as its primary information, advocacy, and stakeholder engagement tool.
The problem
Prior to this project, SAF had a website under its former identity (SFSA), which was taken down during the rebranding transition. This created a digital void at a critical moment when the organization was scaling operations, expanding its partnerships, and launching new country offices. Without an active web presence:
- Stakeholders were unclear about SAF’s updated mission and identity.
- Project visibility and donor engagement were limited.
- Country offices lacked a unified platform to showcase their impact.
The solution
Our team led a comprehensive design and development initiative, focused on:
- Discovery & Planning: Collaborated with SAF’s global and regional teams to understand key user personas, content priorities, and visual identity.
- Design: Crafted a clean, modern, and professional UI that reflects SAF's global mission and local impact—focusing on accessibility, storytelling, and credibility.
- Development: Built a responsive, SEO-friendly website using a flexible CMS, ensuring scalability and ease of content management for different country offices.
- Localization & Integration: Prepared the architecture to support regional content, impact dashboards, and project showcases. Integrated media, publications, and job modules.
- Training & Handover: Delivered training sessions and documentation to ensure SAF's team can easily maintain and update the website.
